OSCAR SHORTS SCREENINGS with guest Rob Walker
So, today at 7:00 PM I will be screening four of my shorts as a part of The University of Northern Colorado International Film Series Oscar Shorts screening. I feel honored to be asked to participate in something like this. I do public screenings as often as I can, but it’s usually more of a loose format. This event seems like it will be a tad more academic, which will be a cool change. It thrills me most of all, that the audience will be there entirely for the shorts.
Making movies (particularly animation) is an often thankless and solitary endeavor. Most of my animations are three minutes long and many of them take at least three days to complete from conception to completion. Most of that time is spent in my editing room biting my lip and calling myself a no-talent hack. If you haven’t figured it out, making movies is fun but difficult. This is why I’m happy about screenings like this. Short film screenings give audiences a chance to see films that wouldn’t normally have theatrical release and they give filmmakers that rarely receive recognition a chance to be seem . GO SHORTS!
If you can make it to the screenings, I would love to see you there. I’ll be free to chat afterward. If you want to talk movies, let me know.
